Name : Eapen V. P. P.
I came to the Lord in the beginning of 2012, midway through my third year in college. I was from a Christian background, and had received many teachings about Christ, but the Lord had not been a reality in my life. As I entered college, I got all the opportunities to exercise the sin that was within me. I got into a relationship, and when that had ended, I started using drugs and alcohol. But by the grace of God, He arranged circumstances for me to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ through a dear brother. I repented of my sin and put my trust in the Lord, and my life was transformed, because now, Jesus was real in my life. God also arranged circumstances so that, I became a part of Bereans towards the end of 2012, and I am truly thankful to the Lord for it.
One of the greatest encouragements to have a man obey the Lord more heartily is to lead by example. In matters of service, evangelisation of lost sinners in the community, or obeying the Lord fully in all things, the believers in the church have led by example. This greatly encouraged me to progress in my Christian life, and yield more fully to the Lord. Through the life of the church God helped me see that the Christian life was not a mere theory as I previously believed, but a true practical life lived out by the power of God.
I have been greatly encouraged to see the church uncompromisingly hold on to truth as revealed in the Scriptures, despite all of us coming from many different backgrounds. As a part of the church, I also learnt to respect and love and learn from brothers in Christ, who gathered with different churches but might hold to different opinions about non-central doctrines. My life has been blessed much by this church, and the Lord has used this church to give me a solid foundation to build my Christian life ahead.
